  • Jakub Cervenka - Lead Theia Finance Lab

    Jakub is a Research Manager at Theia and a Product Owner for the 1in1000 model suite. Prior to Theia, Jakub developed financial risk models in the banking industry. Jakub also brings in research experience from the European Central Bank where he contributed to stress test model design. Jakub holds an MSc in International Financial Economics from the University of Warwick.

  • Gireesh Shrimali - Lead Oxford Sustainable Finance Group

    Gireesh Shrimali is the Head of Transition Finance Research at the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group and the Technical Lead in the Secretariat for the UK Transition Plan Taskforce, established by HM Treasury in 2022.  He is also a Visiting Scholar at the Center for Climate Finance and Investment at Imperial College London as well as the Singapore Green Finance Center at Singapore Management University. 

  • Jakob Thomae

    Co-Pi of 1in1000 and one of the leading global experts on sustainable finance and long-term risks, and entrepreneur with a track record of incubating commercial and non-commercial sustainability solutions. He co-founded the 2° Investing Initiative entities in New York and Berlin and serves as Director of Theia Finance Labs. Jakob is Professor in Practice at SOAS, University of London.

  • Ben Caldecott

    Co-PI of 1in1000 and the founding Director of the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group at the University of Oxford Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment. At the University of Oxford, he is the inaugural Lombard Odier Associate Professor and Senior Research Fellow of Sustainable Finance, the first ever endowed professorship of sustainable finance, and a Supernumerary Fellow at Oriel College, Oxford. 

  • Antonio Buller

    Antonio is a Research Associate at 1in1000 focusing on methodology and scenario analysis. Previously, he worked as a climate impact analyst on the Paris agreement alignment and climate impact of individual companies and portfolios. Antonio holds a MSc in Economics and Business Administration with a major in Finance from the Norwegian School of Economics and a BSC in Business Administration from the University of Hamburg.

  • Bertrand Gallice

    Bertrand Gallice

    Bertrand is the 1in1000 Analytics Engineer, in charge or development of model software and data pipelines. Bertrand has an extensive experience in data analytics applied to marketing, econometric models and model deployment. His focus is to improve the stability and speed of the models developed in the 1in1000 team, in order to make them easier to adopt by financial institutions. He holds a Master of Engineering from EIGSI La Rochelle, and a Msc in data science from DSTI.

  • Mark Bernhofen

    Mark is a Research Associate at the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group. His research focuses physical risk modelling and on the interpretation and use of climate risk analytics by financial institutions as part of the UK Centre for Greening Finance and Investment. Mark recently completed his PhD at the University of Leeds. In addition to a PhD, Mark holds an MEng in Civil & Structural Engineering from the University of Leeds.

  • Kevin Tang

    Kevin Tang is a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge. His expertise lies in transition risk scenario analysis, analysis of Integrated Assessment Models, spatial finance data, and modelling of steel and cement infrastructure investments in relation to climate change. Kevin holds a DPhil and MSc in economic history from Oxford University, and a BA from Northwestern University.

  • David Kampmann

    Dr David Kampmann is a Research Fellow at the Oxford Sustainable Finance Group. David’s research focus is on transition finance and spatial finance to develop novel ways to assess the (mis-)alignment of corporate trajectories with climate targets. His past work included the development and analysis of asset-level datasets in high emitting sectors such as iron and steel, cement, and power generation. David holds a PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science
